My DJ life

There is nothing more incredible than being a DJ. Once you have your turntable, your music, and you start to mix; your mind flies in heaven, your body feels the music, and you know that you are making the people dance. Since I got my turntable, I just want to turn all the volume up and mix.

Every day I come from school, I start practicing. Take the turntable out of its box, connect it, turn it on and ready to go. Just push play and start to mix. I always have to remember “at the 1^st beat, at the 1^st beat”. Mixing can be simple or difficult depending on the way you mix. All the DJs I have seen in parties don´t know how to mix, how to make a good change of songs.

Oh, Saturday, one of my favorites days in the week. The day I go to DJ class. My favorite two hours of the whole week. In the class I practice on serato, it is something like the LP records but you can play the music from the computer. Is so amazing to mix with the serato because you always have to put attention to your mix, you have to had a good hearing so you know that the beats are at the same velocity and bpm (Beats per Minute)

I sincerely admire my professor a lot. I admire him because he has a very particular and unique way to mix and he has thought me how to mix, how to remixes and all of that stuff. I also admire him because he is on wheelchair and he has continued with his life mixing for the world.

Something that I like to do is try to make a good song, a techno, house, or electronic song every day I can, but sometimes I´m not inspired. To do it first I go to my computer and open Fl Studio. Then it gets more difficult because you have to create a 3 different parts: a bass, a lead, and some kicks; also you can add more things. Here comes the most difficult part for some person as me, to make a song original and unique that makes the people dance. Sometimes I made a good song, but sometimes I get desperate and close the program.

I am going to be honest with you; there is nothing more exciting than mixing in front of a group of people. When you see all the people dancing with the mixes that you are making you feel like you are making that all that people have a good time. Now imagine yourself mixing but your own song and you see that the people love it, you will be happy with yourself and with what you are doing. That is way you always have to follow your dreams.
